Be inspired by intentional living at Decor + Design in Melbourne this July. The Design Matters National Sustainability Hub is bringing an eco-conscious, ‘Byron Bay’ brand of cool to the show.

Housed inside an unmissable tiny house, the Hub will respond to the environmental concerns shared by many Australians, and will showcase quality, locally designed and made interior products.

Curated by Design Matters National, a stylish Luxe Tiny Home – model name: ‘Byron’ – will form the centrepiece of the Sustainability Hub. The Byron is single-level, 9 metres long by 2.4 metres wide, and offers eco-friendly and off-the-grid living.

The interior products on show inside will focus on being better for people’s health and for the planet. They will include minimalist, FSC-certified furniture from Plyroom, a Melbourne-based furniture studio dedicated to the design of products fostering a simpler way of living.

Oh Side Table by Plyroom

The company embraces practical minimalism, offering an intentionally small collection of thoughtful and sustainable furniture and accessories all designed and made in Melbourne. The Hub will feature three Plyroom products: ‘Slow Bed’, a bed base contrasting the clean, buttery tones of FSC-certified, architectural-grade pressed Birch, with the richness and warm hues of FSC-certified Tasmanian Oak, with a plant-based matte eco finish. Other pieces will include the ‘Oh Side Table’; and the ‘Hang On Piccolo Coat Rack’, made from sustainably forested architectural grade pressed birch sealed with a natural eco-friendly wax.

The Design Matters National Sustainability Hub will be on show at Decor + Design 2021, 15 – 18 July at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. Entry to the exhibition is free by limited to trade visitors – register now and start planning your trip.
